On 09^th & 10^th of May NTUA team carried out the didactic events at the School units of the Municipality of Naxos and Small Cyclades, and specifically at the local community of Irakleia and Schoinousa Island.

On 13^th & 15^th of March NTUA team carried out the didactic events at the School units of the Municipality of Naxos and Small Cyclades, and specifically at the local community of Koufonisia and Donoussa Island.

On February 05-09 the NTUA team carried out the didactic events at Preliminary, Junior High and High School Units of the Municipality of Ancient Olympia.

21/06/2017: El equipo de CARTIF presentó el proyecto 'LIFE PAVEtheWAySTE' en ATENAS 2017

On this occasion, students of Early Childhood Education and Primary Education had the opportunity to learn how to recycle the waste they produce at home and to know why it is so important everyone´s collaboration in the recycling tasks.

21-22/09/2017: Τhe project ‘LIFE PAVEtheWAySTE’ was presented by NTUA team in “LIFE platform meeting on plastic & the circular economy”, held in Athens on September 21st-22nd, 2017.

20-21/07/2017: The project ‘LIFE PAVEtheWAySTE’ was presented by CARTIF team in Venice, Italy at ICEPCP 2017 

13/07/2017: NTUA team also hosted a 1-day workshop in collaboration with the Green Fund of Greece and representatives from the National Contact Points of LIFE from Bulgaria and Hungary. Experiences of the Unit of Environmental Science Technology on preparing successful proposals and implementing LIFE projects were discussed. NTUA presented, inter alia, the case of LIFE PAVEtheWAySTE project.

5 May 2017: The Information Day of the LIFE Program 2014-2020 took place on 05/05/2017 in Madrid with the presentation of the 2017 Call.

12 April 2017: Representatives of LIFE PAVEtheWAySTE team from CARTIF visited the Zonzamas Environmental Complex of Lanzarote Island.

28 March 2017: The CARTIF projects’ working team carried out an infoday for LIFE projects dissemination.

24 February 2017: A networking meeting was held at NTUA facilities with LIFE PAYT: "Tool to Reduce waste in South Europe (LIFE15 ENV/PT/000609)".

24 November 2016: The CARTIF working team realized a visit on 24th November to URBASER facilities in Barcelona in the framework of preparatory actions.

14 November 2016: The LIFE PAVEtheWAySTE project was presented as a good practice example of “Circular economy on waste management for islands” on 14.11.2016 at the International Conference “Circular Economy ‐ Territorial Cohesion – Islands”, at Heraklion, Crete (GR).

1 November 2016: The stakeholders’ consultation event for Naxos Municipality took at the Τeleconferencing Room of the NTUA Library. The identified interested stakeholders (i.e. recycling industries and waste management companies) were informed via email and phone for the organization of the event and the relevant agenda.

18-21 October 2016: The public consultation event for the Municipality of Naxos and Small Cyclades and especially for the four local communities of Donoussa, Schinousa, Irakleia and Koufonisia, was carried out.

30 September 2016: Distribution of dissemination material in the Researcher’s Night Greece 2016, in the big pan-European celebration of research and science on the last Friday of September, at the National Technical University of Athens (Patission Historic Complex).

16 July 2016: A workshop was held as a forum for public consultation on the integrated waste management strategies developed for the selected communities of Ancient Olympia, which consist target areas of the project. Invited stakeholders (waste management companies, industries for recycling materials) and local residents attended the workshop on the afternoon of Saturday 16/07/2016 in order to participate in the discussion on the sustainable management of waste, the valorization methods of recyclable materials contained in MSW and the multiple benefits resulting for the quality of life of residents and local markets.

30 June 2016: In the framework of LIFE PAVEtheWAySTE project implementation, an article, entitled "Peculiarities of urban waste management in remote areas" was published. The article was dedicated to the challenges faced by remote and island communities of Spain in the field of waste management.

17 June 2016: The first visit of the External Monitoring Team, in the presence of the Monitoring Expert Dr. Christina Marouli and representatives of all the project beneficiaries, took place in the Multimedia Room, Library Building, NTUA, Athens, Greece.

13 January 2016: Last December 2015, the European Commission adopted an ambitious Circular Economy Package, which includes revised legislative proposals on waste to stimulate Europe's transition towards a circular economy which will boost global competitiveness, foster sustainable economic growth and generate new jobs.

19 November 2015: Students from 10 countries visiting Moraitis Secondary School in Greece in the framework of the Pan European Educational Programme (PEEP) took a tour at the premises of the School of Chemical Engineering of NTUA.

22 & 23 October 2015: A networking meeting took place in Greece, coinciding with the kick-off meeting of the LIFE PAVEtheWAySTE project. The REVAWASTE project was present to share experiences with participants in the field of municipal waste management in remote areas. Read more

7 October 2015: A meeting took place between the LIFE projects PAVEtheWAySTE and ISWM – TINOS in order to establish networking and exchange knowledge and lessons learnt from the implementation of the latter in the insular area of Tinos, Greece. The proposed  innovative technology which will be developed in the framework of the project will be implemented in two Greek remote areas, namely the Municipality of Naxos and Small Cyclades Islands (Small Islands of Donousa, Schinousa, Iraklia, Koufonisia) and the Municipality of Ancient Olympia.
